What’s FUN got to do with it?

by Leigh / Wednesday, 17 June 2020 / Published in Personal

What if business and having fun weren’t mutually exclusive?

At Million Dollar Business Club, fun is one of our five main pillars of success. Let me explain why…

“If you aren’t having fun, you’re doing it wrong. In everything you do, you should find ways to enjoy and appreciate your life.” Wise words from Richard Branson.

As part of our Fortune and Fulfilment Formula, we help you to rediscover what having fun means to you in your work and personal life. It may sound trivial but believe it or not, often fun can be the missing piece for many successful business leaders and entrepreneurs.

As the proverb says, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!”

Still need convincing?

Well, science also confirms the fact that we should ALL make time for fun and even prioritise it daily. Here’s why…

1. Having more fun improves your relationships, both at work and in life

2. Fun makes us smarter

3. Fun reduces stress

4. Finding more fun in physical activity balances your hormone levels

5. Fun can make you more energetic and youthful

Fun is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as “Light-hearted pleasure, enjoyment, or amusement; boisterous joviality or merrymaking; entertainment“.

Ask yourself the question, what does FUN mean to me? Hint, it is a different answer for everyone and there is no wrong answer.

What’s the first thing that pops into your head?

Is it laughing with friends, taking your dog to the beach, watching your favourite documentary on Netflix or perhaps reading a new book?

If you are more of a social creature, having fun might be going out to dinner with friends, taking your partner to see a movie or maybe it is hosting a party or BBQ.

I don’t know about you but all this talk about fun, is actually fun in itself. Food for thought hey!

What if we told you that having fun also boasts massive health benefits? Like…

1. Reduced Stress

2. Sweet Serotonin

3. Improved Ability to Cope

4. Boosted Energy

5. Improved Memory and Concentration

6. Improved Connection with Others

7. Sounder Sleep

8. Positive Patterns

Yes, that’s right, sounds pretty amazing doesn’t it. And it can all be yours, if you simply make time and prioritise it. Simple as that.

At Million Dollar Business Club, we believe there is a distinct competitive advantage in merging work and play. In fact, we practice this all the time, every day in fact.

We integrate fun into our program so that Members experience this first hand at our signature events and retreats.

If you’re keen to place more value on having fun and want to learn how to carve out more time for doing more of what you love, please get in touch.
